Week of October 10, 2016
Religion - This week we are working on Chapter 3 which gives an overview of all 7 sacraments. The students will be learning how the sacraments are grouped: Sacraments of Initiation, Sacraments of Healing, and Sacraments of Service.
Language Arts - Our WoW word this week is serpentine. The prompt is to choose three animals that would move in a serpentine manner and describe how moving in this way would be advantageous to that animal. The prompt will be due on Friday. Due to the Titan Fun Run, the spelling test and packet are due on Thursday. In Reading, we are continuing to read From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. This week we will cover chapters 7 and 8. We are checking comprehension in a number of different ways; discussion, paper and pencil comprehension questions, and Plickers!
Social Studies - We are learning about the Native Americans that lived in the Plains. When we are finished with this section, the students will be able to compare and contrast these people with those who lived in the Eastern Woodlands. We will have a quiz on Lessons 1 and 2 this Wednesday. Students have been making note cards and practicing in the classroom.
