Week of October 24, 2016

Religion - This week, we continue our study of Baptism as a sacrament of initiation.  We will discuss the gifts God shares with us when we receive this sacrament.   This week is also Everybody Counts Week.  We will be taking time to learn about the God given gifts and differences of others.

Language Arts - This week's WoW is herpetology. Our class will be focusing on strengthening our introductions and conclusions in our writing this week.  We will also continue to read from the Mixed up Files of Mr. Basil E. Frankweiler.  We are anxiously nearing the end and will be checking our comprehension as the week progresses.  Finally, we will practice using nouns as subjects and subject complements.

Social Studies - We started the week by comparing and contrasting the ways of life of the different Plains groups.  We continued on to lesson 4,  discussing our focus question:  How did the geography and climate of the Southwest and the West affect the Native Americans there?  Our next quiz will be on lessons
three and four.
