Last Friday seventh grade students were instructed to do the following:
Select a white piece of paper from the scrap box.
Fold, bend, or roll your paper into a sculpture.
After placing your sculpture on the table, note the shadows on the sculpture as well as the cast shadows.
Draw your new sculpture.
Students took the time to observe and draw their sculptures as realistically as possible. The results were fantastic and some of the drawings evolved into illustrations of forests, maps and other subjects.
