Kindergarten is the first step toward what we hope will be an exciting and stimulating experience for your child as he or she passes through our educational system. We welcome your partnership in helping your student to achieve success in school.  By working together, we can create a positive learning environment. We know this will be a wonderful year for your child.

COMMUNICATION

 School-Home- The teacher can be contacted by telephone, or email.  We check folders each day.  Class work, homework assignments, notes from the teacher to home and notes from home to teacher are sent through the folders.

Put Names on Everything- Any money sent in needs to be in envelopes and identified for it’s purpose and to whom it belongs.  All notes need to be dated and marked with the child’s name and signed by a parent.

Titan Times/ Webpage- Every Wednesdays at www.saseasschool.org the school newsletter the Titan Times is published.  The website includes the school calendar, cafeteria menu, and kindergarten webpage.  The webpage contains information about our curriculum, specials schedule and upcoming events.  Check these sites weekly. 

Messages that need immediate attention- Messages emailed directly to teacher will not be checked until after school. If it is an important message about the present day, call the office and leave a message.

HEALTH INFORMATION- It is imperative for the school nurse and your teachers to have all medical information about your child.  Policy prohibits a school from distributing medication (prescription or over the counter) to students without a parent-completed medication form on file in the school office.  Any drug to be given to child either prescription or OTC needs a physician form completed and on file.  These forms are available online. Do not send medicines with your child-they must to be dropped off by an adult.

LUNCH MONEY- For All Day Kindergarten only:

Money needs to be sent in before or on the day your child is buying lunch. Some children sometimes get confused which days they should buy and the staff in the cafeteria needs to gets an accurate head count. Please let us know in writing which days your child will eat a hot lunch or buy milk.    The complete cafeteria policy and daily menu can be found on SASEAS website under Lunch Menu.

LABEL PERSONAL ITEMS – All clothing looks like everyone else’s.  Place child’s name on all personal belongings especially clothing.  If lost, only items marked can be returned.  All others go into the lost and found and items not claimed will be donated to charity.

TRANSPORTATION-- With the busing of kindergarten students, child safety is our prime concern.  To ensure their safety-the children MUST wear bus tags for the first month.

         ON FRONT of bus tag----- CHILD’S NAME

         ON BACK of bus tag------- DROP OFF BUS NUMBER AND ADDRESS OF DROP OFF or CAR RIDER if picked up everyday.

If you plan to pick up your child on a particular day, send a note in their folder or call school if it is an emergency.   If there is no parent note, the policy is to send the child on the bus (or the last official notification on file).  If there is a change to the bus schedules, call the bus garage and school office to make an official change.   NOTE: The bus driver will not drop off your child if there is no one to meet them at their drop off point.  If car rider, we will check ID of person picking up child as needed to assure safety.

SCHOOL RULES--We are required to enforce the rules in our student handbook.  Review all rules in the SASEAS Handbook.

SNACKS-- We have FOOD ALLERGY concerns in our primary wing.  PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE OF ANY SERIOUS DIETARY RESTRICTIONS OF FELLOW CLASSMATES.

BIRTHDAYS - We celebrate on or as close to day as possible. Exceptions --summer birthdays will be scheduled during the year.

STAR OF THE WEEK- Each child will have an opportunity to be Star of the Week.  The order is random. 

FIELD TRIPS- Advanced notice will be given for any special day.
