Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Before you start checking out your assignments for the day, the first thing I would like you all to do is go to the Google Classroom App and join any classes that have the JOIN button highlighted in blue.  For Language Arts, Reading, and Religion, 5B will join the Mrs. Jones' 5th Grade Homeroom Class.  If you are in my Math class, you will join the Mrs. Jones' 5th Grade Math Class.  If you are in Mrs. Wood's Math Class, join her 5th Grade Math Class.  Both 5A and 5B will join Mrs. Jones' Social Studies Class.  5B will need to join Mrs. Wood's Science Class.  Invitations have been sent to all of you, so you should all have those classes available to join.  If you are having trouble, let me know and I will help guide you.

Daily assignments will be posted on the SASEAS Blizzard Bag page.  If you would like to try the Google Classroom App, the attachments will be posted there as well.  ALWAYS come to the Blizzard Bag 1st!  I want you to work with Google Classroom a little bit each day, so you can become familiar with it.  As we move forward, we may need to use it more.  When you join your Homeroom Class you will see a YouTube Video .  I want you all to watch it, and then send me a quick message letting me know you watched it and understand the content.  More detailed directions will be listed with each assignment on Google Classroom.

I miss all of you and your smiling faces!  I sent all of you an email already.  I would like to hear from you, so feel free to send me a message every once in awhile.
Love, Mrs. Jones

Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Just a reminder to start every day by checking the Blizzard Bag and your email.  Yesterday, everyone joined Google Classroom.  A few of you explored doing your assignments through Google Classroom.  Many of you attempted, but are not following the correct directions and are turning in a copy with no answers.  If you tried yesterday and decided not to use Google Classroom or didn't do it correctly, please try again today by following the instructions below.  It is important you all know how to do and turn in work through Google Classroom.  Eventually, we will only be using Google Classroom.  If you are not turning an assignment in through Google Classroom, please send us a note.  That way we know you completed it and will be turning it in on Monday.

When opening an assignment that is a PDF, please follow these instructions:

1. When you open the document that is assigned to you in Google Classroom, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner next to the print icon
2.  Click on OPEN IN NEW WINDOW
3.  This will open the document in a new tab.  Look for the "OPEN WITH" DROP DOWN BOX just above the document in the center.  Click on that and OPEN WITH GOOGLE DOCS

That will open the document that you can type in.  When finished answering the questions, go back to Google Classroom and on the right side where it says TURN IN, you can click on ADD/CREATE and go to your Google Drive.  The document you were working on will be there.  You can click on it and add. Then click TURN IN.

If you happen to get a notification that says you need to request editing, that's ok.  Click on Send Request and we will approve it. It shouldn't happen often though.

As a side note-for math, we would like you to attach a picture of your work.  So, show your work!!

Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Just a reminder to start every day by checking the Blizzard Bag and your email.  I am still not sure who is turning work in online. Unless you press Turn In in Google Classroom.  If you aren't receiving a grade from me, than I am not receiving the assignment from you.  The quickest and easiest way for me to see and grade your work, in a timely manner, is if it is turned in from Google Classroom.  So, please follow the directions below.  If you don't understand, Mrs. Wood made a video to talk you through the process.  It is an assignment in Google Classroom (Mrs. Jones' Homeroom Class).  I also added a video Mr. Eaves made.  They are both very helpful.  Even if you think you understand, I want you to watch them anyway.

When opening an assignment that is a PDF, please follow these instructions:

Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Just a reminder to start every day by checking the Blizzard Bag and your email.  At this point, several of you have at least tried Google Classroom.  You can still print out, complete, and turn in work on Mondays or attach a picture and Turn In from Google Classroom. We just want you to be prepared if school closures continue after the 3 weeks.  The videos from Mrs. Wood and Mr. Eaves are still in Google Classroom (Mrs. Jones' Homeroom Class) if you haven't watched them yet.

It sounds like this is the best process at this time:
1. Open in new window

3. Turn In from Google Classroom

It doesn't matter how you get your assignments there, we just eventually want them to be turned in from Google Classroom.

Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Just a reminder to start every day by checking the Blizzard Bag and your email.  You need to make sure you are completing all necessary work each day before you do anything else.  Extra credit should not be completed unless you have all assigned work finished.  As I'm sure you know, we will have a 2 week Spring Break starting Saturday.  If you still have work to complete at the end of this week, you will need to catch up over break.  When we return, we will be doing everything online.  Some of you still don't have the hang of Google Classroom and some of you aren't using it at all.  Some people are printing out, completing, taking a picture of their work, and attaching/turning in from Google Classroom.  Please make sure you play around with it, and figure out what works best for you, before we return on Monday, April 20th.   The videos from Mrs. Wood and Mr. Eaves are still in Google Classroom (Mrs. Jones' Homeroom Class) if you need some help.

It doesn't matter how you get your assignments to us, we just eventually want them to be turned in, preferably, from Google Classroom.  Don't forget to show your work when turning in math assignments!

Hello Students!  Work hard, stay healthy, and have a great day!

Just a reminder to start every day by checking all necessary Blizzard Bags (5th Grade Teachers and Specials Teachers) and your email.  You also need to make sure you are completing all necessary work each day before you do anything else.  Extra credit should not be completed unless you have all assigned work finished.  Please make sure you are turning in assigned work daily, unless directions say differently.  We will continue block scheduling as follows:

Mondays and Wednesdays: Religion, Science, and Social Studies
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Reading, Language Arts, and Math
Fridays: Catch-Up Day

We would prefer all assignments be turned in from Google Classroom, however, you are still allowed to turn work into the bin at school or email.  When turning Math assignments in, you need to show your work or attach a picture of your work.  Mr. Eaves' video is still on Google Classroom, if you are having trouble completing and submitting work.  This is just a reminder:

To type on the PDF:
1.  Click on the assignment and then click on the 3 dots in the right corner.  Click on Open in New Window.
2.  Click on the top, center of the assignment and choose Open with DocHub.  This will bring you to a page you can
     type on.
3.  When you have finished the assignment, click on Export and choose to save in Google Drive.
4.  Return to Google Classroom.  Sometimes your work attaches automatically, sometimes it doesn't.  Before
clicking on Turn In, click on add/create (underneath turn in) and choose Google Drive.  This will bring up what is
in your drive and the first thing there should be the assignment you just completed.  Click on that, click Add.
     Then turn in.

Sometimes the assignment is a Google Doc already.  If this is the case, you can click on the assignment and start typing on it without turning it into a DocHub.

Please make sure you have completed what was assigned for day and that you have completed the entire assignment before you turn it in.

Hello Students,
Today's end of the year activity is a Digital Escape Room.  I did it myself, so if you have any questions let me know.  I sent an email, last night, giving you step by step instructions, so you don't waste any time trying to figure out what you are supposed to do.  The hardest part is knowing how to start, so be sure to read my email carefully.  You may even want to print out my email, so you can refer to it as you move through the activity.  You will also need scratch paper to work out math problems, as needed.  Good luck and have fun escaping the locker room!!!
