Week of April 11

Religion - This week we are focusing on the two chapters that deal with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We are going to the Bible to find and read the parable of the Prodigal Son and also read about Jesus' healing of the paralytic to understand why Catholics need the Sacrament of Reconciliation! If your children should ask, please take them to confession!
Language Arts - We are reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for our class novel, picking up some of C.S. Lewis' masterful skills in writing and strong symbolism found throughout this story. We are on Unit 26 in Spelling and our Wow word is AMICABLE. The prompt is: Some people feel that if two children cannot be amicable to each other, they should be made to stay together until they learn to get along. This is another attempt at writing a persuasive piece.
Math Voto - We are reviewing addition and subtraction of fractions in preparation for the chapter test.
Science - We are working our way through what is happening during a chemical reaction and how we can tell that a chemical reaction has taken place.
