Week of September 19, 2016

Religion - This week, we continue Chapter 2 and our discussion of the Jesus' mission to share the Paschal Mystery and Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy with the Church.  The students will also begin a study of Mary toward the of the week.
Language Arts - The WoW word is pedestrian.  The prompt is: What is the most nonpedestrian thing you have ever done?
We will be reading the chapters 4 & 5  in From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.  As the students go through these chapters they will be comparing and contrasting the main characters and identifying problems and solutions the main characters face.  We will also use our note taking skills to find the main ideas from Chapters 1-4 to complete an activity.
The September Book Project has been posted!  The students were given a poster and directions on Monday.  The finished poster is Due October 5th. If for any reason a cute puppy or an angry rhinoceros destroys the directions, you will find a copy under Book report Projects on my home page.
Social Studies - This week we are finishing up Chapter 1.  We will be going over Lessons 4 and 5 notes.  Our chapter test will be this Friday. The students have their username, and password to get on the online Social Studies Book.  These are located on the first page of their student planner.  Step by step directions telling the easiest way to connect to the website, will be found in their Social Studies folder.
