Week of October 31, 2016
Thank you to all of the parents who helped make the 5th grade Halloween party such a success!
Religion – This week we are continuing our study of the Sacrament of Baptism. We are discussing the gifts God gives us at Baptism, and how Catholics are a priestly, prophetic, and royal people.
Language Arts – The WoW word for this week is desist. The prompt is: Many people desist from touching jellyfish. Would you? OR What happens to people/dogs who do not desist from chasing after skunks?
In Grammar, we are expanding our knowledge of nouns by identifying them as either a subject complement or a direct object. These lessons will demonstrate the use of more complex sentences which we hope, will show up in their writing.
Social Studies - We are finally finishing Chapter 2! The chapter test should be on Friday. It will include vocabulary, reading checks, and some people and places. Students have their notes and note cards to study.
