Week of November 28, 2016
Santa's workshop is in high gear, the students are busy drawing pictures to be placed under a clear gem, which will be turned into a magnet! We will be selling these magnificent masterpieces this Friday for $1. The money will be given to the 8th graders to add to their Adopt -a - Family Fund!
Religion - Happy New Year! We started off our week by discussing the Liturgical Calendar and how it begins on the 1st Sunday in Advent. We then continued to learn more about this wonderful season of Advent! By the end of the week, ask your child about the O Antiphons!
Language Arts - Our WoW word is novel. The prompt is: What is novel to your grandparents but not to you? In Reading we are continuing to read the book Hatchet. So far, while Brian was flying to visit his father in the Canadian wilderness, the pilot dies, his plane crashes, and he is left all alone in the wilderness. (and that is only the first four chapters).
Social Studies - We are continuing our study of the early explorers. With certain interruptions in our schedule, I believe the chapter test will be sometime around Tues. of next week.
