It is Archdiocesan policy, that any volunteer or employee working around or directly with students in our Catholic Schools must be Virtus trained and have a background check performed via Selection.com. Virtus training consists of attending a one-time class that lasts approximately 2-3 hours, followed up with a monthly on-line bulletin that must be read and answered each month. To stay current with your Virtus, you must stay current with the monthly bulletins. If you fall behind more than two months, your Virtus certificate becomes invalid and you would have to start the process over. Fortunately the monthly bulletins take less than 5 minutes to complete.
Throughout the year all parishes in our Archdiocese hold classes for Virtus. You can check locations and times by going to the websites of our school, our parishes or the archdiocese.
In addition to the class the archdiocese requires a background check. This is done through Selection.com. It is an extremely easy process but be sure to mark ‘School’ as the location when prompted to do so. This too, is a one-time requirement.
The Virtus policy is specific to helping or working with our students. If you are a ‘spectator’, Virtus is not required. Attending school plays, musicals, the Halloween Parade, Grandparents Day, etc. does not require Virtus training or a background check. Please join us as our guests.
Any questions can be directed to either school office.
