7th Grade Social Studies
This week the seventh graders will be showcasing their Great African kingdoms projects. The students will be sharing their power points and artifacts. The students who created mystery boxes will be trading boxes with other students and they will try to guess the mystery kingdom represented by the boxes. It should be a lot of fun to see everyone's hard work in these projects. The students will also begin topic 13, which focuses on early American civilizations and cultures. We will explore the government, economy, culture, and achievements of the Maya, Aztec, and Inca civilizations.
8th Grade Social Studies
The eighth graders will wrap up their study of World War I this week. The students will explore the roaring 20s and the 1930s (including the Great Depression) through an online research activity and a quick study of chapters 22 and 23 in the textbook. The students may also watch a video about this era from the series, "America: The Story of Us."
