Week of January 1st-5th
Hello Parents and Happy New Year!! I hope all of you and your families had a wonderful Christmas vacation, full of fun and time together! I know my family sure did! Thanks again for all the fantastic gift cards! Those came in handy for sure! I used the Fandango gift card to take my girls to see The Greatest Showman-which was AWESOME, we had fun shopping at Target, and Starbucks and Panera knew us by name by the end of the break!!! I can't wait to put the Cato and Kohls gift cards to use when I can sneak away by myself!!!
Due to the short week, we will not have Spelling, Grammar, or a Writing Prompt this week. I know the kids are heart-broken, but I promised we would get back to that next week!!!
We began our next novel, Holes, this afternoon. I LOVE this book, and the movie is also very good. We plan on showing the movie to the children once the novel is completed. This movie is PG so we will need permission to show it from Mr. Wilburn and YOU! Look for a notice of that in the next few weeks.
In Science, we will be finishing up our Amphibian Flip Books. We worked all class period today and will do so tomorrow as well. All Flip Books are due by Friday, January 5th, but as we have D.A.R.E. graduation on Friday, we will not have class time on Friday. Don't forget, students need to print off a color copy of a picture of their amphibians. If you cannot do that at home, please email the picture to me so I can print it out.
Students need to be reading a biography book! We will be passing out the directions for the book report around the 3rd week of January.
D.A.R.E. graduation is THIS Friday at 2:30. Please attend if you are able to!!!
I hope the children are as happy to see me as I am to see them!!! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let me know!
