And what will we be learning this week? Here are my tenative plans for the week:
Today we began chapter 10 and our discussion on the Eucharist. We will be talking about what the Sacrament of Eucharist is, why we celebrate it, and what it does for our faith and connection with God. I expect to have a test over this Chapter NEXT Wednesday.
We are still working our way through Holes! The plot is getting interesting! This week we will have an open-book/open-note quiz over chapters 29-39 on Wednesday. Our Word of the Week is Gregarious! We will begin our Essay Maps and Rough Drafts today and tomorrow. Final copies will be due on Friday. Our Grammar concept this week is Adverbs. Spelling Packets and Grammar packets will be due on Friday, but due to our trip to Saint Andrew on Friday, we will need to have our Spelling Test, Grammar Quiz, and Vocab Quiz on Thursday. I don't want the children to feel rushed while taking these quizzes, and I am afraid we just won't have a lot of time when we return to Seton on Friday.
Science: I am hoping to finish up lesson 4 and read through lesson 5 in Science this week. We will be discussing meteoroids and Pluto. I am hoping to have a lab this week on Meteoroids as well. I am still planning on our Chapter 4 test being on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I will be sending out review guides via email this week. Then we will begin a week and a half of Lab-a-palooza Take 4!
Math: This week in math, we will work on lessons 68,69, and 70. With snow days and Catholic Schools Week extras, we are a bit behind my plans, but we are getting back on track. We will have another cumulative test over lessons 61-65 next Tuesday.
*Please send in toiletries and personal care items for donations this week!
*Pack a snack every day
*Students must decide if they are packing lunch or buying pizza on Friday. If they are packing, all lunches must be in a throw-away bag. We don't want to lose anything or have to bring anything back with us.
*Act of Faith Prayer test on Friday!
*Biography Report due Friday!
*Scholastic Book Orders due Friday!
Have a great week! Thank you for sharing your children with me!
