Week of March 5th
Hello Parents! Happy IOWA week!
This week the school will be taking different sections of the IOWA test each day. It is important that the children be here each day, filled with a hearty breakfast and a good night's sleep! We will continue on next week with the CoGAT testing for a few days. Because of all the crazy schedule changes, you will notice there won't be much homework going home this week. I am also making a couple of changes to the week as far as Science and Religion.
The Chapter 5 Science Vocabulary Quiz has been cancelled. I will test the children over the vocabulary next Thursday when I give them the Chapter 5 Test. I will have study guide out soon.
The Act of Hope oral Test will be on FRIDAY instead of Tuesday this week.
Here is a peek at what else we will be doing this week:
We will continue our discussion on the different parts of the Mass, focusing on the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. On Tuesday we will fill out a SOAP page over the day's readings, and on Thursday and Friday, we will work on Stations of the Cross Wheels to continue our celebration of the Lenten Season.
Due to all the testing this week, we will not have a spelling packet or WOW prompt. We will be working on GrammarFlip throughout the week, though I do not think we will have a quiz on Friday. We will be reading through chapters 17-27 of Maniac Magee and there will be an open-book quiz over these chapters on Friday.
We finished lesson 75 last week and had a test. This week, we will do some review work, and get back to the book next week.
We will read Lessons 1 and 2 of Chapter 5 This week, as well as do a couple little experiments. This chapter is very short. I expect to have a test next week! Then we will have our end of the chapter Lab-a-Palooza over force and motion! I can't wait!
Reminders for the week:
-Testing all week! Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep each night and a healthy breakfast
-Pack a snack daily
-Turn in those Titan Madness Papers! It should be a fun night
-Report cards go home Wednesday
I hope all of you have a wonderful week! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email me! As always, thank you for sharing your children with me.
